False information

[edit]

An incredible amount of information in this article is false, particulary that about Ecuadorian-Peruvian relations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.121.54.56 (talk) 21:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. False information in relation to conflicts with Peru. Please revise information as it might mislead uninformed people that come to this site as a source of unbiased information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kalex19 (talkcontribs) 02:27, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the military history of ecuador is ridiculous just read "THE EVIL PERUVIAN ARMY DECIDED TO STEAL AMAZONIAN TERRITORY BLAH BLAH BLAH"

lol!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.54.195.90 (talk) 16:29, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers and statistics

[edit]

The exact numbers and statistics of Ecuadorian troops and quantity of their equipment is difficult to access, since this type of information is kept rather "secret" by the Ecuadorian government itself. Various "official" and "unofficial" sources provide often different information.

Therefore I decided to go with the more "realistic" numbers. Example: It is rather easy to access information about how many "Gazelle" helicopters were purchased by the army in the past, but rather difficult to get up-to-date news about their current numbers. In this case I would focus on information providing smaller numbers, considering that Ecuador has not purchased any further "Gazelle" helicopters and that since them some crashed (or got lost). Another important issue is that Ecuadors military budget is not very big and one can only imagine that not all aircrafts, etc. are fully functional.

This approach will be used also to other statistics mentioned example, troop numbers etc. One has to keep a "down to earth" approach if sources vary. Any opinion? Thanks Ulan76 (talk) 21:06, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Corrections

[edit]

Greetings, I'll made several corrections in the history section of this article, because was full of myths and lies about the conflicts between Peru an Ecuador, and its also needed an article about the Ecuadorian Navy. --Cloudaoc (talk) 06:30, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FALSE CORRECTIONS

[edit]

Hi Cloudaoc, I checked out your "corrections" and must say: What was wrong initially? Inserting words like "full hated" and stating that the previos text consisted of "lies" doesn't state YOUR neutrality. On the other hand the amount of planes lost by peru during the last conflict was correct, why did you cancel it? Since you've changed the article I better hope that you can provide decent sources instead of getting involved in political brush ups.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ulan76 (talkcontribs) 22:20, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll beg you pardon? I'll never used words like "full hated", perhaps i'll missed to remove that ones but they aren't mine. About the lies, that's the correct word, the Ecuadorian Air Force never achieve air superiority (that`s one example of "lies"), and funny, you ask me for sources, but the original article shows no one, i'm only showing the facts as they are, and if you wan't to accuse me of vandalism or lack of neutrality, you must do it better than this. Greetings. --Cloudaoc (talk) 15:55, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

cleanup tag (Feb 2010)

[edit]

The articles has many issues with it so I'm not going to list them all here (most are obvious):

  • Refs should be formatted correctly using {{cite web}} or similar templates
  • The article needs to be rephrased (it is clear that a non-native English speaker wrote it)
  • The POV needs to be removed

There is a quite a bit more, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Griffinofwales (talk) 19:13, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm the non-native English speaker, sorry :-) theres nothing I could do about that. What is a POV? Thanks Ulan76 (talk) 22:05, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

POV removed ;-) Ulan76 (talk) 21:02, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
